The Best Bank Cards for Every Filipino Long Term Traveler

The Best Bank Cards for Every Filipino Long Term Traveler

When I started planning for my long-term travel, one of the questions I have was the best bank account that I can use for international transaction/withdrawal. I am a digital nomad, and I received my salary thru Paypal or Payoneer (preferred). And from Paypal or Payoneer, I withdraw the money to my local bank which is BPI Family Savings.

My BPI account is not a Mastercard or VISA, so I cannot use it in booking flights or hotels. Whenever I want to book flights or hotels, I used payment center like 7-Eleven or Cebuana. More reason for me to get a Prepaid/ Debit Mastercard or VISA account.

Although BPI has this Prepaid Mastercard or VISA that can be linked to my main BPI savings account, I chose to open an account with BDO specifically the Kabayan Savings that has passbook and Mastercard. I chose BDO Kabayan Savings not only because of its zero maintaining balance but also because I can use it to withdraw funds from Paypal or Payoneer.

The metrics I used for the best travel bank cards in the Philippines are low maintaining balance to no maintaining balance, at least comes with Mastercard or Visa card, can be linked to Paypal or Payoneer and online banking.

I also have two options on the list below, a Travel Card (top up card or prepaid card) or regular account with Mastercard or Visa.
